Patchwork Puzzle Peace

I spent a love falling in life with a mirage I was chasing

Did I pretend a figment unto you?

I thought I was safe inside your silence

A thousand pieces of listless violence

I shattered again and again

Pieces of my soul

Broken and built to amend

It was never enough to save me from this patchwork I’d woven

Fragments of what’d you give, taken and augmented

A future to be falsely cemented

Did I live a lie of my own weaving?

Or did you change the tapestry without my consent?
