All the Things I Swore to No Longer Want
I doze wide awake, fidgeting with these frozen dreams
I keep my nightmares on ice, needles breaking the seams
You make me crave things I swore to no longer want
Now my demons bear arms
A gun on gluttony, a knife for pride
Lust walks like a predator and envy’s the general
We claw our way into the light for the misfortune of being seen
Catch me before I fall
Love me forevermore
I’m banister and pedestal, pieces on the pavement
Don’t put me on a plinth, even marble cracks
I’m a person, not a performance
But I’ll drink up the light till the day I die
