Wake Up
In your arms I find refuge from my dreams, they haunt
I run from the things I swore to no longer want
Dream’s scape, dreams escape
I’m still running to close the gape
To wake up I have to be stronger
I can’t live in sleep any longer
Asleep I’m blind
Awake I find
The living nightmares, the shades of your presence
Traces left behind, shadow-walking through the essence
Careful solace
Tiptoe and wallow
But I’ve never heard a sound so hollow
Time is ticking in this hourglass sand
There’s no more fruit in this barren land
Miss me and always leave
Keep me and lose me
Such ignorance cannot be undone
Reason cannot be taught to one
Its silly and sick and the dessert of the depraved
Let them eat cake
I’ve been waiting, but I’m already gone
The man I once knew was a mirage made of smoke and dust
Breathless in the fog, the mist of the lost
I said I’d never give up, no matter the cost
But I’m not brave anymore
I’ve never loved you before
