Sentenced
All is well I hear?
Show and tell I fear
This not the wayward wind?
Breeze in the open alley I sinned
I prayed not for the end this time
But the strength to undo my crime
Hold me listless and tarrying
Forgive me this doubt that’s harrying
I forget to forgive to reprieve to live
If this is my undying guilt
For this river, I am silt
Sheath my pain to the hilt
And hasten to repent and rebuild
Right you no wrong?
Hear you not forgiveness in my song?
You built a roof over an empty sanctuary
Can you, too, absolve this shame you carry?
